Star Equality Theatricals is the high desert's first educational theatre program tailored for a fully immersive experience for artists of all abilities, ages 3 - 103! We are committed to providing opportunities for differently-abled artists to learn and perform onstage in both leading and ensemble roles alongside their typically developing fellow artists. Instruction in acting, singing, dancing, improv, costume design and creation, stage make up, and technical theatre provide the foundation for academic interventions in reading, math, movement, and communication. Working together to build a show fosters life long friendships among cast members that stand the test of time. Not a fluent reader? Come play with us! Not great with numbers? Come play with us! Not a strong mover? Come play with us! Partially or non-verbal? Come play with us! Express yourself through behavior? Come play with us! Typically developing? Come play with us! Your child will learn the expanse of their full potential and be supported in reaching or, even, exceeding it. Abilities have no limits with Star Equality! 

Our Mission at Star Equality Theatricals is to provide fully immersive inclusion opportunities for artists with disabilities while simultaneously fostering understanding and relationships with their typically developing peers in a setting that regards all participants with equal respect, dignity, and experience. Through the learning of scripts, music, and choreography, we are committed to providing embedded academic interventions, cultivating confidence and self-esteem, and laying a foundation of essential life skills on which all participants can develop life long independence.

Star Equality Theatricals is the life dream of our founder and artistic director, Jennifer Sundell. Jenn got her own start in musical theatre in a children's theatre in Long Beach, CA in 1993. Her experiences in that program literally set the stage for a life full of success, achievement, and joy. Armed with the skills and tenacity she gained in the educational theatre setting, Jenn went on to earn the first ever four year B.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Redlands in 2000. Wanting to be available to audition at a moment's notice, Jenn worked as a substitute teacher after graduation. It took almost no time at all for Jenn to be a sub in her first ever Special Education class. She immediately advised the district that she wanted all of the substitute positions in the Special Education classes moving forward. The following year, she was offered a teaching contract in exchange for returning to school to get her credential for moderate/severe Special Education instruction. 22 years, two credentials, and two Master's degrees later, Jenn continues to perform on her most favorite stage - her classroom. The fusing of her two areas of passion and expertise has long been a goal of Jenn's and she is beyond thrilled to offer this program to all of the aspiring artists in the California High Desert, Inland Empire, and beyond!
